Experiencing gridlock?
Each day, about one million car trips are made both to and from Durham Region. As a result, many of the region's roads can become congested, especially during peak travel periods.
With Durham's population expected to increase to about a million people by 2031, it is anticipated that traffic congestion will rise. When this growth is combined with the ever challenging supply of resources for road expansion, it is clear that sustainable commuting solutions are required.
